This necklace allows the faceted 8-10 mm carnelian rondells to shine with their unique orange glow.
Carnelian has been used for personal adornment since Neolithic times. It is a gem mentioned in the Bible, carved into scarabs by the ancient Egyptians and Phoenicians and a favourite of the Romans for carving signet or seal rings. Unsurprisingly, it has never really fallen out of favour.
The necklace is 19"(47cm) long and is finished with a sterling silver chain and clasp.
