Long sterling silver mirror chain with peach gold and white pearl cascade.
This 28" (50cms) long necklace features an unusual mirror effect sterling silver chain which ends with a cascade of mixed sized and naturally coloured pearls in peach, gold and white. The sterling silver clasp allows for the necklace to be doubled up - offering the chance to wear it at choker length for a very different look, or it can be slipped over the head to wear it at full length.
These pearls are cultured meaning that they are created by pearl farmers under controlled conditions working with pearl oysters or freshwater mussels. They are still considered to be genuine pearls despite the fact that there is human intervention in their creation. Natural pearls are much rarer and thus far more expensive. Indeed it was only after Mikimoto started to produce cultured pearls in 1888 that it became possible for those other than the very rich to aspire to own them. As a pearl-lover I am grateful that I am able to work with pearls in all of their varieties, but primarily with cultured ones
Pearls are one of the birthstones for June, so this would be a particularly appropriate as a present for anyone born in that month.
This necklace would work well for the colder months over jumpers and woolly dresses but would equally look great over a summer maxi dress.
Length 28" (50cms) chain with additional 3.5" (9cm) pearl cascade.
