Milky Aquamarine and sterling silver bead necklace with matching earrings
The 8mm milky aquamarine beads in this necklace are interspersed to the front with sterling silver beads Whilst we most commonly see aquamarine in its transparent form, the opacity of these beads allows for the delicate colour to take centre stage. The earrings have a single bead of aquamarine suspended from an intricate sterling silver circular connector.
Aquamarine is one of the best known and loved members of the Beryl family (along with Emerald and Morganite). It was used by a range of civilisations throughout antiquity and was especially prized by Roman fishermen who used it a talisman, to protect them at sea and improve the size of their catch. Indeed the name Aquamarine comes from the Latin with 'aqua' for 'water' and marina for 'of the sea'.
The necklace is 18" (45cm) long and is finished with a sterling silver clasp. The earrings are on sterling silver earwires
